Overall we are very pleased with the quality, cost and schedule and would recommend Nick Sakvarelidze & Eberia Construction without any reservations.
Nick was one of three contractors we interviewed for the job.  Nick was the only contractor who brought his subs with him for the interview and provided us a very detailed estimate, breaking it out by room/areas.  Nick came across as someone you can trust, and that was our experience throughout the project.
Nick listened to our thoughts and ideas and made recommendations based on his knowledge and experience.  We also hired  a designer to assist us in the project, and the designer and Nick worked well together.
Overall the project went a bit higher than the original budget and a little bit longer than planned.  Both were due to some changes we had requested after the project had started.  Nick had a good 'Change Management' system, on how change orders were approved and paid for.
Nick's sub contractors for flooring, painting, electrical and cabinetry were pretty good with lots of experience and a sense of pride in their work.  Nick managed them well, and the project moved at a good pace.  Nick was also very good at working with the HOA and the City for the necessary permits.
I would hire Nick again without a second thought for any similar work in the future.

Description of work:

Remodel of a town home including replacing flooring in all rooms (hard wood and carpet), painting all rooms, complete remodel of 3 bathrooms replacing all bathroom fixtures, electrical work including upgrading lighting to LED.  Painting also included removal of 'popcorn' ceiling in some areas and skim coating some areas. The fireplace facade was redone, and custom cabinets were added adjacent to the fireplace.  Work also involved redoing the master bedroom closet, master bath vanity and adding a closet in the downstairs bedroom.  Our experience working with Nick encouraged us to expand the scope to also include the Kitchen remodel, which involved replacing floors, painting, replacing cabinets and appliances.

Workers were dependable. The subs always arrived on-time and were professional. Alexandr was
especially reliable and helpful throughout the job. There were several glitches with items ordered
through another supplier and the carpenter was patient with the do-overs.

Fantastic!! Many in my L.A. neighborhood were remodeling there homes but no one felt good enough about there contractor to give me a positive referral. I called my engineer who gave me Eberia's number and the rest is history. They were cheaper than my other two bids and I don't think it is possible to do a better framing job. We gutted our house, reconfigured the floor plan, raised ceilings and added approx. 700 sq. ft.

We interviewed 4 contractors and chose Nick owner of Eberia construction, because of his
approach, remodeling ideas and very detailed itemized proposal. We didn't have any delays, always on
time. Crew showed up as scheduled. There were no change orders. I would use Eberia again.

Although we originally started with just remodeling the kitchen, then added master bed and bath, we are so happy we have now done all that we have. The oak floor on the middle level of our tri-level, and oak stairs that go up and down to the upper and lower floors had never been refinished and needed repair. In addition to some sections being replaced, the floors were sanded, restained and sealed. The other areas of the house were sealed off with plastic and the large sanders had vacuums so the mess and dust was minimized, and the guys cleaned up as much as possible daily. It was still dusty - don't get me wrong, but not nearly what I had seen at friends' homes.

The living, entry, upstairs landing and hall and dining rooms are connected and the ceiling for most is elevated or two stories high. They removed the popcorn using huge ladders, then Genadi, the electrician maestro installed 20 recessed lights with no attic space, just outside tile roof above most of the area, and added dimmer switches in zones. Ceiling molding was also added, along with matching new baseboard throughout. The outlets and switches in all the areas had to be replaced and brought up to code.

The ceilings and walls were painted, as were the doors, windows and trim. Some trim around doors had to be replaced or repaired and all now hardware was added. The windows and sliding glass doors are real wood with many small glass panes, and a nightmare of hand detail painting. The painters are very meticulous and do a very good job on the detail hand work.

The old scuttle door into the attic space in the upper hall ceiling was just a piece of popcorn coated wallboard. Alex built a rim inside and a new door that fit snuggly in the space, improving looks and finally addressing the lack of energy efficiency plaguing the opening. Nick also replaced or added smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to bring the house up to code.

The house needed several stucco and a few other exterior repairs, and those were done along with a complete painting of exterior. The small balcony off the master bed and the attached patio roof were also painted. The front door, and windows were painted, plus 3 sets of sliders - the same windows and sliders with the wood and small glass panes. The front steps cement was cleaned.

Happy we have Angie's List, any of the three contractors we found here and spoke with before starting our kitchen project would probably have been good, but Nick and Eberia turned out to be the perfect match for us. We ended up doing three projects that have pretty well resulted in an almost unbelievable before and after, achieving the vision and goals I had in my head but couldn't exactly articulate. Thank you Nick and associates and Angie's List. Inside of the house done, exterior repainted, roof fixed, pool redone - now I am working on driving a great landscaper nuts - all found here if course!

As with any major remodel, especially a reconfiguration project, there are always obstacles that slow the process. However, considering these issues, they were resolved and the work continued smoothly.  Nick Sakvarelidze, the contractor for Eberia, was always amenable to my wishes and made every effort to keep the work running smoothly. He was present when it was necessary and always returned emails and phone calls on a timely basis.
Some of the problems we encountered were:

Asbestos in the garage ceiling:  Before any work began, Mr. Nick Sakvarelidze, Eberia's contractor, recognized that the acoustic ceiling had to be tested because his plumbers were going to enter through that section to re-plumb the kitchen water pipes.
Water leak in adjacent bathroom:  The bathroom is located next to the kitchen.  Unbeknownst to any of us, the pipe in the wall had been leaking.  Plumber spent some time tracking it down and had to repair and replace the bathroom faucet.
Gas Piping issue: Due to the location of the gas pipe, the kitchen drawers under the rangetop could not be as deep as originally planned.
Water Pipe:  The kitchen sink pipe had to be replaced for a larger one due to a change in the city code. Because of that change, the bottom kitchen cabinet was shortened in depth.
Earthquake valve:  This installation was not planned.  It was pointed out by the City Housing Inspector, which was additional cost.
These problems were resolved as mentioned earlier without any major delay. A day here an there.  It was a pleasure working with Mr. Sakvarelidze.

Nick, Walter, and the Eberia crews were all very professional and reliable.   "OLD WORLD" service, with a great attention to

detail.   Yes, every project has it's "moments", but Nick was always available and very diligent in working through bottlenecks.

I live in an old, "Landmark" building, with lots of restrictions, and the crews took extra care (and time) to make sure

they complied with the building's rules & regs.

Kitchen looks very nice, and I would recommend Nick & Eberia.

After having my kitchen remodeled by Eberia Construction in 2014, we decided that our living room needed a facelift.  The living room had not had any major maintenance done for 10 years.  It needed a new paint job, a new floor and a stairway railing upgrade.
Nick Sakvarelidze is an intelligent contractor who understands the issues and perils of home remodeling.  He recognizes the details and points them out as he assesses the area in order to provide one with a fair price.  He is very responsive to any questions throughout the term of the project i.e. phone, email, or personal visit.
Project:
The floor crew arrived on time and demolished the floor with care.  They hauled all the debris and prepared the floor for the wood installation.  The next day they began and worked through the day.  They completed it the following day with an excellent result. The crew was hard-working and diligent staying on schedule.
His painting crew did a fabulous job of taking care of our furniture and shielding every square inch of flooring so that any paint drippings would not damage it.  They also did a beautiful job of stripping our bannisters and refinishing them.  I originally thought I
would just repaint them but after they suggested refinishing them, I thought it would be a pleasant change.  They look
lovely and I am very pleased.

The  project was a complete kitchen remodel, on a rather old house.  The entire kitchen was demolished, floors, all fixtures , finishes, windows removed. The new kitchen is beautiful, the difference is night and day. All new custom cabinets, floors, tile appliances, windows, lighting and electrical. Storage space was greatly increased, wish i could post a picture. Work went as scheduled, and the design fits in beautifully with the existing style of the house. Could not have been more pleased with the results. On time and in budget.

Nick at Eberia construction is amazing.  We had a very tight timeline as we needed to move in early May and wanted to get our renovations done before we moved.  We purchased the house on March 15 and thanks to Nick's hard work and his excellent contractors 95% of the work was done by May 8th when we moved.  In the bathrooms we had new tile installed, new plumbing fixtures, and a new vanity and expanded plumbing in the master bathroom to allow for two sinks.  His guys did everything I asked and more while staying under my initial budget.  His tile guy, Chris, did an especially excellent job on the floor and showers.
In addition to the new bathroom vanity and kitchen cabinetry, I also had his carpenter custom-build a desk, window seat, and bookshelves.  The craftsmanship on everything was quite good.  I had some problems with the existing cabinets in the kitchen and Nick and his carpenter were the only ones of the all of the contractors I spoke with who were willing to work with me to fix them rather than trying to convince me to replace them, which I did not have the budget to do.  Other contractors just told me I would need to find someone else to fix them and had no practical suggestions about what to do.
I can't say enough how grateful I am to Nick for helping me to get so much done with my limited budget rather then constantly trying to convince me to increase my budget or to add new projects I didn't request.  I will definitely be calling him again if I have more remodeling to do in the future.

Nick, Becky and I wanted to write and thank you for the excellent work on our new kitchen. We are thrilled with results, and with the work done by entire Eberia team. Special thanks to Leonid for his onsite management of the project, to Alex for his excellent craftsmanship with our cabinets and trim work, and to Julien for his work with drywall and, especially, the backsplash. Everyone else, including plumbers, electricians and framers, were also excellent, and we appreciate their work. You and your people were always honest and fair. We felt we received good value for the price paid, and your suggestions made sense and were always appreciated. We enjoyed working with everyone and highly recommend Eberia Construction Company.

Brian & Rebecca

If you are reading this letter it means that you are looking for a general contractor. In our opinion your search should stop right here. You will be hard pressed to find a professional that could compete with Mr. Nick Sakvarelidze of Eberia Construction.

When we began planning our kitchen-remodeling project we were duly apprehensive. The job was extensive, complex, and having asked around all we heard were horror stories. After interviewing several very reputable contractors we settled, hands down, on Mr. Sakvarelidze. From the very first meeting to the last day of the job we never once regretted our choice. In fact, as the work progressed our admiration for this man and his outstanding professionalism only grew.

In fact these words, "outstanding professionalism" permeate every aspect of Nick's attitude, approach to business, and execution of the tasks at hand.

There are other words that go along with professionalism- courteous, hard working, diligent and gracious! Nick Sakvarelidze is all these and more.

Here, briefly, is our experience with some of the common issues people face with contractors:

Problem with workers arriving on time? Never! We could set our clock by the punctuality of nick's crew!

Quality of work? -Meticulous!

Keeping to the schedule? Rigorously! Never once was there a delay due to Nick!

Hidden costs? -None! Nick's estimate detailed, thorough and realistic. A couple of items were changed in the process of the job(to be expected ), but these were done with our consent and/or at our urging.

And how many people can claim peace of mind while their house is being torn down, and their life turned upside down? Nick promised at the beginning of the project that if problems would arise, he would handle them. "Don't worry," he said. Throughout the weeks of the project Nick stayed true to his word.

Stumbling blocks are inevitable in any remodeling project of this size. Our friends warned that we should count on them. Nick Sakvarelidze never flinched, argued, or take advantage of any difficulty that arose - he was helpful and gracious beyond the call of duty.

Staying with budget? -YES! Nick was always ready with an excellent suggestion, but he at all times listened to out wants and needs.

When somebody loves what he does - it shows. Nick Sakvarelidze takes pleasure and pride in his work. He provides the proverbial " excellent service with a smile". When you're on the receiving end of such professionalism, you realize how rare it actually is.

People who see our beautiful new kitchen ask if Nick's services are expensive. "He is reasonable", we reply, "but in the end - how would you price integrity?

Victor & Yanina

I was introduced to Nick through my design firm. He of course came highly recommended, and they presented me with a long list of satisfied references. Being burned before, however, I was not easily convinced, and I felt the need to independently check into more of his references. What I discovered was quite amazing indeed. Without exception they all gave Nick glowing reviews and recommendations. They anonymously raved about the quality and artistry of his work, professionalism, and fair prices. But, above all, they were most impressed with his high ethical standards, integrity and honesty, attributes unexpected and extremely rare in a cut throat industry full of get rich quick artists.

In early June of this year, I engaged nick to completely gut and rebuild my kitchen and bath. He explained everything from A to Z, and made sure I understand the whole project before I put my signature on the dotted line. I was impressed by his relaxed charm and professional knowledgeable attitude. I found his integrity refreshingly disarming, and it soon became apparent that part of what makes Nick so successful, is his genuine concern and empathy for people. Not only, did nick finish the project on time with in budget, he did so by numerous creative suggestions and enhancements which vastly improved the over all effect of the final result. He never cut corners or sacrificed quality.

Nick has turned my project into an overwhelming success, a true showcase, and a worthy addition to his already awesome portfolio.

Large or small Nick will treat every job as though his personal and professionalism reputation were at stake. I am proud to call Nick my friend, and would not hesitate to use him on my next project and or recommend him to other interested.

Thank you very much for a job well done. I appreciate your professionalism and your expertise".

When we approached Eberia Construction, we had a couple of important issues that needed to be taken care of by the contractor that would be working on our kitchen:

Timeliness of the project

Since my elderly parents live with us, it was crucial to assure that their routine would be upset for a minimal amount of time.

Quality of work

The quality of work was excellent and I was impressed by the professionalism and politeness of the staff.

Staying on budget.

Other than the expected challenges presented by a house built in 1926, there were no changes to the budget and no last minute surprises. Eberia Construction mall our expectations and delivered a spectacular finished product. Our kitchen is a cook\'s dream and the envy of all our friends.
